Get the most out of WordPress with IFTTT • WordPress Help

IFTTT is a web service used to automate processes such as tweeting, Facebook posts or saving and / or creating files in ] Google Drive (among other combinations). IFTTT means " If This Then That ", which translates as " yes this, then this ". This service works through " recipes " that, for example, allow, if there is a new item in an RSS feed, a link is tweeted with the title of the item.

Here are some ways to use IFTTT to empower WordPress. It should be noted that I will put the " recipes ", without explaining step by step at all. This system is not very difficult to use, that's why a common recipe is created:

Already registered or logged, click on " Create a Recipe ":

ifttt1 "width =" 993 "height =" 228 "srcset =" http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt1.png 993w, https: // ayudawp. com / wp-content / uploads / 2015/03 / ifttt1-550x126.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt1-840x193.png 840w "sizes =" (max- width: 993px) 100vw, 993px "/>

Click on" this "Here we will choose the service that will activate the" recipe ": [19659005] <a href= ifttt1 "width =" 993 "height =" 228 "srcset =" http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt1.png 993w, https: // helpwp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt1-550x126.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt1-840x193.png 840w "sizes =" ( max-width: 993px) 100vw, 993px "/> <a href= ifttt2 "width =" 956 "height =" 258 "srcset =" http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt2.png 956w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads /2015/03/ifttt2-550x148.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt2-840x227.png 840w "sizes =" (max-width: 956px) 100vw, 956px "/>

Now we choose a service, for example, RSS Feed. And then, " New feed item ". Then, for each new item in the feed, the action that we will define later will be made:

<a href= ifttt3 "width =" 818 "height =" 374 "srcset =" https://ayudawp.com /wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt3.png 818w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt3-550x251.png 550w "sizes =" (max-width: 818px ) 100vw, 818px "/>

Click on" Create Trigger ". Now we will define the action to be taken when the feed is updated. In my case, I choose to publish a tweet with link In my Twitter account, the WordPress Help posts are self-published along with the highlighted image, I did it with " Post a tweet with image ".

<a href= ifttt4 "width = "970" height = "533" srcset = "http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt4.png 970w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/ 03 / ifttt4-550x302.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt4-840x462.png 840w "sizes =" (max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px "/>

Now we can arm the tweet. In this case, you simply tweet the title of the post along with a link to it.

<div id= ifttt5 "width =" 732 "height =" 469 "srcset =" https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/ 2015/03 / ifttt5.png 732w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt5-550x352.png 550w "sizes =" (max-width: 732px) 100vw, 732px "/>

<p class= In the button on the top right, we can add "ingredients."

Now I give you some ideas of " Recipes ":

ifttt6 "width =" 550 "height =" 159 "srcset =" http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt6-550x159.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/ wp-content / uploads / 2015/03 / ifttt6-840x242.png 840w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt6.png 970w "sizes =" (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px "/>

This has one drawback, that it is only possible to choose a blog. Also, I did not test if you can also with installations connected to Jetpack.

<a href= ifttt7 "width =" 550 "height =" 133 "srcset =" https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/ uploads / 2015/03 / ifttt7-550x133.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt7-840x203.png 840w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/ uploads / 2015/03 / ifttt7.png 966w "sizes =" (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px "/>

<a href= ifttt8" width = "550" height = "153" srcset = "http://bootstrapx.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/ifttt8-550x153.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ ifttt8-840x234.png 840w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt8.png 973w "sizes =" (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px "/> [19659005]

I do not know who can help you. But this recipe creates a document for each new post.

<a href= ifttt9 "width =" 550 "height =" 188 "srcset =" https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015 /03/ifttt9-550x188.png 550w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ifttt9-840x288.png 840w, https://ayudawp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015 /03/ifttt9.png 963w "sizes =" (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px "/>

Well, as you can see, the only limit is the imagination, given the large amount of combinations available Experimenting we can find very diverse uses We could, it occurs to me, publish a tweet for each new topic in the forum, or maybe add a post for each new image on Instagram for example.
