Hundreds of thousands of blogs migrate from Tumblr to WordPress • WordPress Help

At a rate of more than 70,000 migrations per hour the announcement of Tumblr's sale to Yahoo seems to have caused a massive flight of Tumblr users towards WordPress .

The recent purchase of Tumblr microblogging service by Yahoo one of the most expensive in history, does not seem to have convinced many users who, in a massive way, seem to be migrating towards WordPress as an alternative to continue posting on their blogs.

Fortunately migrating from Tumblr to WordPress is extremely simple, since every installation of WordPress incorporates an importer from Tumblr that effectively migrates the content:

All this makes the migration painless after which the Tumblr user just has to choose a theme to his liking from the thousands that there are available in WordPress.

Show your Twitter followers without plugin

Neri explains in a clear and easy way to any human being how to add a text that shows the followers on Twitter of a specific user, usually the creator of the blog on which it is included. Do not miss the post of WordPress Hacks which is scary and in these times it is almost essential to unify your WordPress with social networks and microblogging services.

P2 – Prologue gets older

Prologue the theme developed by Automattic to offer a personal Twitter clone based on WordPress has been made larger and arrives, with version P2 to a state of grace in which almost nothing is missing.

The new features, which you can check in the video, are these:

  • Comments nested on the main page
  • Direct editing of posts and comments
  • Suggestions for tags and tags previously used
  • Option to hide / show comments
  • Real-time notifications of updates or comments (If you use Mac you will know what I mean if I tell you that it's the style Growl )
  • Simple keyboard shortcuts: c to create a new post, j to go to the next element; k to go to the previous element; r to answer; e to edit; or to show or hide comments; t to go up; esc to cancel.
  • Source Helvetica Neue

Impressive!

The entry P2 – Prologue gets older the first published Fernando Tellado in Help WordPress . Do not copy content, do not say anything good about you to your readers.

Show the latest Twitter message on your blog

Especially in personal blogs, it is increasingly common to integrate the online activity in a single site, both the lifestreaming complete as your updates of Twitter Facebook or other services.

Apart from complete systems like TwitterSuite a great way to share your activity in the famous microblogging service, and that you will see in many personal blogs, is to add code in your template so that shows your last message on Twitter . You just have to add this code where you want it to appear:
