Windows Live Writer now edits images

Microsoft has just released a new preview version of Windows Live Writer the desktop bloggging client of the house, and perhaps one of its best applications.

In case you did not know it yet, this editor allows you to create, edit and publish posts in WordPress Blogger or Windows Live Spaces ]

This latest version incorporates a completely revised toolbar with tabs to switch between different views, in addition to word counting . But possibly the most notable and interesting change is the incorporation of a basic image editing tool tremendously similar to the utilities included in the productivity suite applications of Apple , iWork .

Now you can crop, rotate images with Windows live Writer . It also offers edge styles that include the famous Mac-style "reflex" and rounded corners.

Another novelty is that you can directly upload videos to Soapbox the MSN response to YouTube, and thus embed the videos in your posts.

The pain of all this is that have forgotten a couple of issues more than important, at least for us (same also for you). One of them is power upload videos from YouTube directly instead of betting on their new "standard", and another one, that already smells, that they have been forgotten again including the possibility of assign Tags for publication in WordPress . Let's see if for another version they do not forget.

Thanks
